Nausea is defined as the sensation of uneasiness and discomfort in the stomach with the desire to vomit. Nausea is not a disease but a symptom of the underlying one or more diseases like anxiety, constipation, acute gastritis, chemotherapy, influenza, medications, pain, inner ear disease, as well as during pregnancy and many more. Nausea is many times accompanied with the loss of appetite and Dehydration. Intravenous fluids may be provided if the dehydration is severe. The Nausea can be treated by using Antiemetics like Promethazine, Prochlorperazine, Droperidol, Metaclopramide and Ondansetron. These medications are available in variety of dosage forms like pill, liquid, tablets that dissolve under tongue, rectal suppository and many more.
