What is Plastic Surgery?

Answer:
Plastic surgery is the term used for a procedure
that restores or improves the appearance of body tissues such as bone, cartilage, muscle, fat, and skin.

Reconstructive procedures are performed on parts of the face or body requiring reshaping or remolding after injury or disease in order to give a normal appearance or to repair their working ability.

Cosmetic surgery (also called aesthetic surgery) can alter a body part that a person’s not satisfied with such as reduce scarring or disfigurement that might have occurred as a result of a birth defect or an accident. The word “plastic” comes from the Greek word plastikos which means to mold or to shape.
