What Is Fasting?

Fasting is when a person willingly abstains from consuming some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. Depending on what the person is fasting from, the fast may be total or partial, and the time period of the fast may be prolonged or intermittent. The fasting period may involve abstaining from sexual activity, or from certain types of food, such as meat. A complete fast is abstaining from all foods and liquids.

 

What Is The Zone Diet?

The main concept behind the Zone Diet is food is like a medication that is used to achieve a desired hormonal response through the day. The targeted hormones are insulin, glucagons, and eicosanoids.
