What food is high in Protein?

With the popularity of high protein diets like the
Atkins diet, people are looking for good sources of protein.  There are a lot of foods that are high in protein.  These foods usually fall into the meat, dairy, or nuts category.


Meats can include beef, pork, poultry such as chicken, turkey and duck.

Milk, cheese, and eggs are great sources that we get from dairy products.  The egg whites are where we get protein from an egg, so separate those whites out if you are eating a lot of eggs.

Nuts such as peanuts, cashews, and pistachios are high in protein.  Peanut butter is a tasty way to get a good dose.  Beans like red beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, and black beans provide a good source and can be used in a lot of recipes.

As you can see, there are quite a few ways to get quality protein.  Get a recipe book and find recipes that utilize these foods to keep your diet fresh with good, and good tasting sources of protein.
