The rate at which our bodies burn calories is known as our metabolism. Muscle is the most active tissue in the body and requires a higher level of energy for this reason. Therefore, people with more muscle mass tend to have a higher metabolism. In fact, it is easier to burn fat by building muscle than it is by doing aerobics.
