What is Saturated Fat?

Answer:
Saturated Fat is fatty acid composed of carbons
that are saturated with Hydrogen atoms.  This type of fat is found mainly in animal tissue such as beef and poultry, but can be found in some vegetables.

Saturated fat can also be found in dairy products.

Saturated fats solidify at room temperature and have been found to raise a persons bad cholesterol (LDL) level.  A high level of cholesterol in the blood stream can lead to a higher risk of coronary heart disease.  For this reason, people are encouraged to watch their diets and cut down on their intake of saturated fats.
