What is Veganism?

Answer:
Veganism is sometimes referred to as pure or
strict vegetarianism. It’s similar to vegetarianism in that a vegan (pronounced VEE-gun) doesn’t consume the flesh of any animal including fish and sea animals.

Vegans also refrain from using animal by-products in diet, clothing, or any other form (a practice which a vegetarian may or may not choose to adopt).

The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are concern for animal rights, the environment, or human health, and spiritual or religious beliefs. Individuals at risk of a poorly managed vegan diet are recommended to take supplements to ensure that their levels of calcium, iodine, and vitamins B12 and D aren’t reduced.
