What are Abdominals or Abs?

Answer:
The abdominals -- or abs for short --
are a group of muscles located on the front of the body between the ribs and the pelvis. As well as holding all the organs in place, the muscles provide movement and postural support to the body.

There are four main abdominal muscles: the transverse abdominal muscle, the deepest muscle layer, stabilises the trunk; the rectus abdominal muscle moves the body between the ribcage and the pelvis and is responsible for the much coveted six-pack look; and the external oblique muscles and internal oblique muscles, both sets of which assist with twisting the trunk.
