What is a warm up routine? |
|
Answer:
In order to accomplish a safe, productive workout, For a warm up, I like to perform some stretching, especially of the target muscles that are going to be used, but also the whole body. This gets the muscles loose and limber and ready for the rest of the warm up. I like to perform 3-5 minute of jump rope. It's a demanding exercise, but not done for long enough that it will drain your energy. Any aerobic activity will work, just don't do it for to long or at to high of an intensity. Another warm up technique for weight lifting is to take a lesser weight on the exercise being performed, and do a sub-maximal set in order warm up the target muscle group. When doing this type of warm up, it isn't necessary to do it for every exercise in your routine. Just perform the warm up on the first one or two exercises, and you should be warmed up for the entire workout.
