What is circuit training?

Answer:
Circuit training is a high-energy, aerobic workout
which involves moving quickly between numerous resistance exercise machines or free weight "stations".  The participant
moves quickly from one exercise station to another doing a prescribed number reps, or going to failure at each station.

This type activity keeps the heart rate higher than pure anaerobic activity.

Circuit training can be combined with high-intensity aerobic exercises.
A good example is as follows:

Overhead press
Jump rope 50 reps
Squats or leg press
Jump rope 50 reps
Curls
Jump rope 50 reps
Triceps press
Jump rope 50 reps
Rows
Jump rope 50 reps
Calf raises
Jump rope 50 reps

Each resistance set could be done to a set number of reps or to failure.  I prefer to go to failure because it is more definitive.  You can get creative and change exercises as you feel the need.
