What is Zithromax?

Zithromax is an antibacterial medication
used to treat urinary tract infections, tonsilitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, yeast infections, and sinusitis.


Zithormax was discovered in 1980 and patented in 1981 by a Croatian pharmaceutical company.  The licensing and rights were given to Pfizer in 1986.

Zithromax is available in tablet or orally-delivered liquid form.  It is also available in intravenous form.  The tablets are pink, oval, film-coated tablets with the pfizer logo on one side and a number or code on the other side.
