How long does the LASIK Procedure take?

Answer:
The LASIK procedure typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes
to correct each eye, but the preoperative preparation might mean that the surgery is extended to perhaps an hour or so.

The actual re-shaping of the cornea, the part of the procedure that corrects the vision, takes about 15 seconds for each eye.

Following the surgery, the patient might be asked to remain an additional 30 minutes to ensure that the corneal flap – the part of the eye that is cut away during the procedure to allow access for the corrective surgery on the cornea -- has positioned itself correctly. Most patients are allowed to drive 48 hours after surgery.
