What are some Cataract treatments?

Answer:
When your cataracts have progressed to the point
that your vision is seriously

Cataract surgery has been proven to be a very successful way of restoring good vision. Cataract surgery is the most commonly performed surgery in the United States.  It is performed 1.5 million times each year. Nine out of ten people who have undergone surgery have regained, what can be considered, very good vision, somewhere between 20/20 and 20/40.

During the procedure, the surgeon will remove the clouded lens.  In most cases, the surgeon will then replace it with a plastic intraocular lens (IOL). Improved intraocular lenses are being developed all the time in order to make the procedure less complicated for surgeons and the lenses more effective in restoring vision. There are presbyopia-correcting IOLs that can help you see at all distances. Another new type of IOL blocks both ultraviolet and blue light rays, which research has shown to do damage to the retina.
