Cloning is defined as the scientific technique of asexual production The method generally used in the Cloning process is first isolation of the cell than inoculating it in the appropriate nutrient medium at the desired environmental conditions for some specific amount of time. Cloning method was successfully performed in the mammals (Dolly Sheep) by the scientist Dr. Ian Wilmut of the Roslin Institute in the year 1996. The various application for which cloning is being researched includes generation of the best farm animals, for researching & treating human diseases and for the purpose of obtaining human transplant organs. There are three types of cloning techniques which have been discovered so far are DNA Cloning, Reproductive Cloning and Therapeutic Cloning. Cloning methods also generate a possibility of generating human clones and therefore criticized and banned by many countries because of its possible harmful applications. However cloning method is in its initial stage and lot more needs to be done in this regard. Trackback(0)
