What is Elective Surgery? |
|
Answer:
Elective surgery is surgery that is not needed So, for example, you might need an operation to correct a problem with your knee but because it’s not causing you any pain, and it’s not life-threatening, it’s classed as elective surgery. Elective surgery gives a patient -- and his or her surgeon -- time to consider how best to proceed with surgery and discuss all aspects of the procedure including pre- and post-operative care.
