What is Eyelid Surgery or Blepharoplasty?

Answer:
Blepharoplasty is an operation to remove excess
skin, fat, and muscle from around the eyes. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and loose folds of skin sometimes develop on our upper eyelids and deep creases on our lower eyelids.

Muscles around the area can also slacken resulting in fat bulging and giving our eyes a “baggy” look. While eyelid surgery can remedy these problems and give us a more youthful and alert appearance, it can’t remove wrinkles (unless they’re in the skin that needs to be cut away as part of the procedure); nor will it change the color of dark shadows under the eyes.
