Answer:
GBP is the short form of Gastric In Gastric Bypass Surgery the size of the stomach is reduced by creating a small pouch in upper part of the stomach using either surgical staples or plastic band which in turn is connected to the jejunum part of small intestine. Thus rest parts of the stomach and duodenum part of small intestine are bypassed.
GBP Surgery is performed only in individuals who are between the ages of 18 to 65 years, obese for more than 5 years, if not having any psychiatric disorder and if one is not having problem with alcohol. However one must consult his/her complete medical history with the physician before the surgery for any probable risk which may arise after the surgery.
The various types of risks which are associated with this GBP Surgery are infection, hemorrhage, hernia, bowel obstruction, venous Thromboembolism, Anastomotic leakage, Dumping Syndrome, nutritional deficiencies, etc.
