What is laser hair removal?

Answer:
Laser hair removal is a procedure in which an
intense, pulsating beam of light, or laser, is used to remove unwanted hair on a patients face, arms, legs, as well as other areas.

Using a hand held laser instrument, a doctor can remove unwanted hair with pinpoint accuracy.  The light from the laser passes through the skin directly into the hair follicle where the hair originates.  The follicle is then damaged by the intense heat from the laser, thus inhibiting the hair growth.

Laser hair removal can reduce hair, in unwanted areas, from 40 to 80 percent.  It may take several treatments in order to achieve a longer hair-free period.
