Outpatient surgery eliminates inpatient hospital admission, and uses a doctor’s time more efficiently. It’s best suited for fit, healthy individuals undergoing minor or intermediate procedures.

It’s developed over the past thirty years as a result of a number of factors including the desire to reduce health care costs and the increase in less invasive surgical techniques.
