Dhabiha, also known as Dhabihah or Zabiha, is defined Dhabiha is an Arabic term that means “slaughtered”. According to the Islamic Law, the Dhabiha meat which is obtained through the Dhabiha method of slaughtering an animal is considered to be Halal. The Dhabiha method of slaughtering involves swift and deep incision through a sharp knife on the neck of the animal in order to cut the jugular vein and carotid artery of both sides. However, the spinal cord of the animal must be left intact during the process. The precise details of the Dhabiha process mainly arise from the Islamic traditions educated by Prophet Muhammad.
