What is a Multivitamin?

Answer:
Multivitamins are any form of supplementation
that contains more than one vitamin in a single dose. Most commonly, the term multivitamin refers to one tablet containing a number of vitamins.  Often, these vitamins are combined with dietary minerals and herbal extracts.

People with dietary imbalances are the best candidates for multivitamin supplementation.  Imbalances usually occur in those that are on a restricted diet or those who don't eat a nutritious diet.  Never take more than the recommended dosage of a multivitamin.  Micro-nutrients, such as vitamins, can be hard on the kidneys, if taken in large doses.
