What is Soy Protein?

Answer:
Soy protein is derived from the soy bean which
is made up of a complex combination of all the amino acids essential to human nutrition, and which must be supplied by our diet as they can’t be made by the human body.

Soy protein is popular with vegetarians and vegans as it offers a good alternative to meat, poultry, and animal-based products. And while soy protein and animal-based products both have complete proteins, animal-based products tend to contain more fat, particularly saturated fat.

It’s also claimed that foods high in soy protein may help reduce the risk of heart disease.

Some of the most common sources of soy protein are tofu, soy flour, and miso (used for seasoning and in soup stock).
