also goes by the names beta-carotene, retinoic acid, retinol, retinol palmitate, carotenoids etretinare and isotretinon.  Vitamin A serves several major functions in the human body.


It helps us maintain maintain normal vision by promoting normal cell structure.  Vitamin A helps in the reproduction of cells, also known as differentiation.  It is required for normal embryonic development as well as normal reproductive function.  It is also a integral in protecting the mucous membranes in the linings of the mouth and nose.

There are a number of natural food sources of Vitamin A.  One of the best sources is milk and other dairy products. It can also be found in fish, liver, carrots, squash, eggs, spinach, and broccoli.
