Answer:
Curls typically refers to a basic exercise that most common, biceps curl. When it comes to bicep strength and development, bicep curls are a classic and the grandaddy of them all. A curl can be performed with either a barbell, dumbbells, or on a curl machine. With a barbell or dumbbells, begin by standing straight with the weight hanging at arms length. Now, while keeping the elbows tucked against your sides, simply raise the weight under control, in an arc, until the bar is under your chin, or dumbbell is up by your deltoids. Then lower the weight in the same way, under control, to the starting position. Be sure to keep your back straight and don't rock the upper body. Make your biceps do the work. A curl machine can be very useful for this exercise. The best are made by either Nautilus, Life Fitness, and Hammer Strength. In most cases, the machine helps the trainee maintain proper form and eliminate cheating. Dumbbells are a very versatile piece of equipment for curls. They allow you to do them with either both arms at the same time, alternating, single arm sets at different angles, and they allow you to spot yourself with your free hand. Bicep curls are an essential part of arm development. Just use proper form and don't over train on them.
