What is the Olympic Snatch? |

Answer:
If you want to see something amazing, watch the Snatch As with the clean, the lifter begins with a loaded barbell on the floor. The feet are placed roughly hip width apart. In order to accommodate the deep squat, it is a good idea to have the feet pointing out slightly. Most people take a very wide grip for the snatch, often having their hands touching the collars on the barbell. The shins should be touching the bar or very close to the bar. The shoulders should be positioned over the bar and the hips should be positioned low in a deep squat. Initiate the movement by driving up through the legs while keeping the arms and back rigid. As the bar nears the hips, the hips are thrust forward, driving the bar up your body. At this point the lifter basically throws the bar overhead while he or she drops into a deep squat and catches the bar in a locked out overhead press position. From this point the lifter squats up into a standing position. The training involved in mastering this lift is immense. It is the perfect combination of overall strength and technique. Trackback(0)
