What is Vascularity?

Answer:
In bodybuilding, vascularity is the term used
for visible veins in areas on the body such as the arms and chest. It’s enhanced by very low body fat, low water retention, high blood pressure, and muscle engorgement.

Vascularity is the highly sought after look of the bodybuilder as it helps to give the impression of extreme development, although in women bodybuilders it’s not so desirable as that look is more one of aesthetic symmetry than extreme development.

Some bodybuilders also use topical vasodilators, drugs that cause the blood vessels to dilate and as a result increase the blood flow to the surface of the skin.
