What are the Risks of Breast Implants?

Answer:
As with all forms of surgery, breast implant surgery
carries risks. Some of the major risks related to the surgery itself are anesthesia reaction, infection, and hematoma (the build up of blood in an organ or tissue resulting from a break in a blood vessel).

Where the implants themselves are concerned, two of the most common complications are rupture/deflation resulting in decreased breast size and/or numbness and tingling in the area, and capsular contracture which occurs when scar tissue surrounding the implant squeezes it causing the breast to become hard and misshapen with possible discomfort and pain. Other risks associated with breast implants include infection, changes in sensitivity, and implant breakage and leakage

Consult with your Cosmetic Surgeon regarding the risks and any recovery issues.  Each persons health concerns are different and each patient has different risks.
